I have some squirrely kids.
Dance Party USA has been a long standing tradition in our house. In fact, just the other night the boys chose to crank the tunes and have a dance off instead of play Wii or watch TV. We moved around some furniture and set Pandora to the Black Eyed Peas station. Mac Daddy and I got our groove on too, but we were hunched over laughing in a fit of absolute glee so our dance moves made us look more like choking victims. We have an array of instruments, though no one is a musical protege (though Bird’s piano teacher does sing his praises every week). We just happen to like music in our house, albeit bad music.
Loud music.
And dancing. With wild abandon.
I don’t bond with Bird and Deal in a grassy meadow searching for critters or on a field learning the art of the football spiral. Other than hitting chasing a tennis ball, we don’t do much in the way of a sporty wild rumpus. But what we do, and do often, is dance.
The following footage makes me happier than anything in the whole world. If my sons dance like this while someone is looking, imagine what they’re capable of when no one is watching. Gawd, I love those boys.
Now if you’ll excuse me; I have some squirrels to tend to.

I thought they were “named” dirt and noise. Or was it bird and dirt? I’m lost now….

Oh my goodness. I’m crying right now. That is some good stuff. And I thought I was the only one who brought the wooden spoon to the dance floor.

The Wise Guy wanted to watch this over and over. So much fun. We need to get together and have one big dance party.
