I’ve never been to Seattle. I have known people who lived there over the years but never made my way west for a visit. Mac Daddy has been a few times and raved about the restaurant scene. One restaurant sounded more like a strip club, but hey, he was with sales people in the heyday of the 90s so it very well might have been. Then again, Mac Daddy ain’t that kind of guy. Really. I know people who will vouch for that.
All I know about Seattle is that they have good coffee, it rains an awful lot, and people throw fish at the market. Since I’ll be in Seattle by the time you read this, I figure it would only be apropos to toast this fair city, where Ray Bradbury’s All Summer in a Day could be the first read for the citywide book club.
Seattle’s Next Best
1 ounce Rain organic vodka
1/2 ounce Kahlua
1/2 dark rum
splash cream
cinnamon sugar
Moisten (I really hate the word “moist” and all its iterations.) the rim of a martini glass with a swipe of vodka. Dip into a dish of cinnamon sugar (1 part cinnamon to 2 parts sugar). Grab a cocktail shaker and fill it with ice. Pour in the vodka, Kahlua, and rum. Shake your money maker. Shake the cocktail shaker too. Strain into a martini glass. Top with an ever so light handed splash of cream. Poke a toothpick through one Swedish Fish and plop it in as garnish.
I shall drink one of these whilst in Seattle to ogle the new Nintendo 3DS.
This post is not sponsored, but my trip to Seattle is courtesy of Nintendo, for whom I happily serve as a brand ambassador.

I’ve never been to Seattle, but I was just thinking that I need a good recipe for Kahlua. This looks yummy!

I hope you’re toasting Seattle after a great day with one of these right now. Sounds like the perfect way to wind down after a day of gaming!
