When I am too tired/lazy/busy/spent/otherwise occupied, I like to take the easy road. I do enough walking on the high road and have sashayed along the low road long enough to take in the scenery. Sometimes the Easy Road is all I can muster.
It’s been a trying few days, and a busy sprint to the end of summer, though we are desperately trying to tug the reins to make summer’s lazy days last just a bit longer. Is it just me, or has summer flown by at breakneck speed this year? I hate to see my boys leave for school and getting back to a rigid schedule of homework, piano lessons, and that little detail about being on time for school five days a week. I’ll miss the days we lounged at our own pace and ate lunch in our jammies.
I’m tired just thinking about life on high speed come September. Thanksgiving lurks, and Christmas is going to rear its head any day now. Seriously. Aren’t you tired now too? Have I dragged you down with me?
Well head over to the Easy Road.
Easy Road
1/2 bottle of light beer
1 shot of vodka
4 ounces of lemonade
Pour the beer into a 12 ounce glass, making sure there’s no foam. Drop in the vodka. Top off with lemonade. No need to stir, just tilt it back and enjoy. Now take a deep breath. Sip. Breathe. Repeat.
