Twas the night before school starts, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring & please spare us the louse!
The backpacks were hung in the mudroom with care,
In hopes that all school supplies were purchased without error.
The boys were both nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of times tables danced in their heads.
And Mac Daddy with cocktail, and I with a night cap,
Had settled our brains after a summer that flew in a snap.
