Fall is officially here. I don’t use the calendar to determine the season. I don’t look to the moons or Al Roker.
I use foot wear.
I transitioned from sandals to boots over the last few days. I have an affinity for knee socks so the natural pairing with boots makes me deliriously happy. I will likely be wearing boots everyday from now until March. Yesterday I wore my favorite double zipper red ones. Today I’m donning some black ankle booties. I’ve got some cute black suede lace up boots to wear over the weekend. They are the kind of boots you can wear with a drapey cozy sweater and still romp in the backyard. While I have many pairs of boots (don’t ask me to count), I still have my eye on a few pairs to round out my collection.
The best way to kick back during boot season is to grab a warm drink fireside. Boot season also happens to be apple season, a partnership you might not consider, but work with me.
Booted Up
1 ounce bourbon
3 ounces fresh apple cider
3 ounces ginger ale
few whole cloves
1 cinnamon stick
Add cloves and cinnamon stick to a mug. Add apple cider and ginger ale and heat in the microwave (or stove top if you want to make a big batch). Add bourbon. Stir ever so slightly.
Now grab that cozy sweater and snuggle up by the fire. Nordstrom shoe catalog optional.
