I love Wisconsin. Oh sure, it’s the butt of jokes at times. We snort at John Candy’s mention of Sheboygan and think everyone breaks out into spontaneous polka. I do admit, however, to giggling a tish at the hearty Midwestern accent. Wisconsin is replete with stereotypes, but it is so much more than beer and cheese.
With that being said…
I would like to feature a Wisconsin brew today. We are here in America’s Dairyland, and there are local beers galore to celebrate. We took a little stroll down Mac Daddy’s Memory Lane today as we toured his old digs and haunts at the University of Wisconsin. Madison is one of my favorite cities. It is the consummate capital city that blends its place as state capital withthe flagship state university. If it weren’t for a painfully long winter, I would live there still.
When we make our not-often-enough pilgrimage back, Mac Daddy and I indulge in a favorite local beer.
Today, I sing the praises of New Glarus Brewing Company. Try the Two Women. It’s Mac Daddy’s favorite (wink, wink). I’m partial to the Spotted Cow. They say “You know you’re in Wisconsin when you see the spotted cow.”
