I’m taking a 5:00 Fridays break today to bring you a remarkable story of a family that needs our help. My friend serves on the board of Mercy for America’s Children and shared this story with me. Shining souls like Amy Phillips are the fuel our world needs to trudge forward with a lilt in our step rather than bricks in our soles.
Amy chairs the board of MAC. Amy is a devoted, loving single parent who adopted three boys through the foster care system and has done nothing but give to others. She carries on in her own law practice to help others navigate the system. Recently Amy lost her home in a fire. The family is literally left with nothing but the clothing on their backs. Luckily no one was hurt, but the loss is devastating nonetheless.
Let’s help.
Amy and her sons are in urgent need of clothing, cash, or gift cards to replace some of the basics. If you are able to help, please donate on the Mercy for America’s Children website and note that it is for Amy and her family. If you are local to the Triangle area, donations for the family can be delivered to 231 Kinvara Ct,. Wake Forest (leave items on the porch).

There are so many causes out there to support. I know we all work hard to lift up others so let’s rally to do what we can for this family. Amy is an inspiration and she reflects such hope for our world, the community, and especially for those boys who call her Mom.
