It only took me 50 years to be invited to an album release party. I’m not cool but I know cool people.
Raleigh band The Geb dropped its first album this week, and it won’t disappoint. My sons asked me if I was going to just keep listening to the same song over and over. It’s catchy, and it doesn’t hurt that I know several faces in the video. Ordinary Lives is aptly named; the band proclaims it as a “reflection on daily life, community, and family in these not so ordinary times.”
All proceeds from the show benefit the Ligon Middle School arts program. The arts supporting the arts! Come on over to enjoy some catchy indie rock, reminiscent of the bands I listened to in college. Buy tickets here for just 10 bucks ($12 cash at the door)!
The album release party is Saturday, June 8 at Imurj in downtown Raleigh at 300 N. McDowell Street.
The show is 7:00pm – 9:30pm…This means I can be home and in bed before 11:00. Music to my tired, old ears!
Check out The Geb on all major streaming services. Download the album Ordinary Lives today so you can learn all the words and sing along on Saturday.
See you Saturday, when I can finally say, “I’m with the band.”
