I was at Trader Joe’s last night. The cashier, who was ever so friendly, asked me what I was going to do with all the Meyer lemons in my cart. “Why, make cocktails!” I exclaimed. I think we could totally be friends because she didn’t bat an eye when I said that. I have several Meyer lemons, and shortbread just ain’t on my list of things to make with them. For starters, I’m sharing an oldie but a goodie. Stay tuned for more as I play Isaac the Bartender over the weekend. But don’t fear, no red biohazard bags required.
Meyer Lemme-Have-Some-More Aid
1 oz Cointreau
Juice of 2 fresh Meyer Lemons (My new favorite citrus fruit!)
Squeeze fresh Meyer lemon juice into a cocktail shaker and add the rest of ingredients. Pour into a glass filled with ice. Now here’s the fun part – garnish with a stick of rock candy. Stir. Sip. Sigh.
Warning, using a straw will make you sloopy loopy.
