I like to mix up something in a batch for entertaining. That saves me from shuffling between the kitchen and wherever our friends are cavorting. The perfect fall pitcher of cocktails is an apple sangria. It tastes of fall’s sweetness with a hint of summer’s shimmer that trails off onto your tastebuds.
Apple Cider Sangria
1/2 gallon fresh apple cider
1 bottle chardonnay
1 cup pear vodka
few sprigs fresh rosemary
Pour cider, wine, and vodka into a pitcher. Add rosemary sprigs. Give it a stir and refrigerate for a few hours. Serve over ice with some fresh rosemary to make it look purty.

I can’t wait to try this recipe and even have fresh rosemary in my garden (the one thing I have managed not to kill), my in-laws are coming next week and I’m hoping to impress them (although after 12+ years of marriage, I think that ship has sailed :), can I find pear vodka at most ABC stores? When will Amazon get into the alcohol industry beyond wine so I can order it online like everything else? How great would that be?
