We’ve got nothing but hard, cold rain drenching our winter spirits here in North Carolina. The snow just one state north of us warrants a whole different jolt of spirits. Snow cones aren’t just for kids frolicking poolside in August’s sultry heat. When Mother Nature turns her frigid shoulder and pummels you with ice packed snow, make a grown up snow cone of your own.
Scoop an ice cream scoop size mound of clean snow into a rocks glass. Top with one ounce of bourbon and a splash of ginger ale. I like to squeeze in a tish of lemon too. Sip fireside. The pleasure is even more warm and fuzzy when donning slocks. And just for the fun of it, you can enjoy this libation sans bourbon too. Just add lemonade and a touch of ginger ale instead. Voila, snow cones for everyone!
Stay warm and be cool.
