Listen up, people. Mother Nature wins. Again. She teased us with a couple cool evenings a while back, prompting me to don boyfriend jeans and a cardigan. By the way, the term “boyfriend jeans” is lost on me. If my jeans are small enough to belong to a guy, it’s likely he wouldn’t be my boyfriend. Look, nothing against small men, but have you met Mac Daddy? He’s 6’2. I’m 5’0. We’re a sight alright. Anyway, back to Mother Nature effing with us…
I optimistically thought we had escaped typical North Carolina sauna conditions. Mother Nature is giving me a virtual wet willy right about now. It’s soupy thick and soggy out there. I’m not complaining, mind you. Simply observing. I’m not one to beckon winter. So in case the Fates are eavesdropping, let me reiterate, I AM NOT COMPLAINING.
There are many ways to cool off. I guess the ice bucket challenge would be welcome around these parts. I’m forgoing the ice and focusing on cocktails. I’m going to combine cocktail hour with dessert tonight. It’s the BOGO of beverages! Here’s all you need.

That’s it. Well, you need a champagne glass too. Plop a dollop of sorbet into a champagne glass. Top with prosecco. That’s it.
